Which Troop Will YOU Choose?
Piedmont Council Scouting is a longstanding tradition within the community, welcoming boys and girls of all ages to each of our programs. This small town, local Council, is consistently ranked one of the best across the nation, with nearly 20% of local youth participating.
March 2026 is the open enrollment period for 5th Grade+ Girls and Boys.
To help interested families learn more about Scouting and prepare, Piedmont Council offers local informational sessions. Get more information and a schedule for those events below. After that, our Troops host ‘open house’ meetings, where they welcome interested families to see the troop; schedule below.

Parent Info Sessions:
Most youth begin their Scouting journey in March of 5th grade (youth 6th -through- 10th grade are welcome!). Some new Scouts graduate from the Cub Scout program for elementary age youth, but most new members (and parents) have no experience with Scouting. To help you understand what the Scouting program is, and which Troop(s) you should consider visiting, we are offering informational sessions.
Parents interested in getting a beginner friendly introduction to the program are invited to attend several information sessions. Come learn about Scouting’s relevance in the modern world, what the “Scouts BSA” program (for youth 11-17) offers, and have your questions answered in a friendly environment.
Each info session is hosted by a member of a specific elementary school intended for members of that immediate neighborhood, but feel free to attend any session that your schedule allows.

Troop Open Houses:
In March, each of Piedmont Council’s five troops offers a nighttime “Open House” meeting for prospective youth and their parents. While the Troops have a lot in common, these meetings allow you to learn what makes a Troop unique and special.
We encourage you to join a Troop by April XX in order to get onboard for summer camp programming, and to attend May’s “Camporee”, a campout in Marin that involves Scouts from all five troops partaking in a weekend of games and competition.
