Piedmont Community Service Crew Annual 4th of July 2025 Pancake Breakfast

Piedmont Community Service Crew is honored to be host of the decades-long local tradition of the annual July 4th pancake breakfast which we took over responsibility of in 2016, hosting every summer except 2020 due to the pandemic where even the parade was canceled.  This is PCSC’s biggest single fundraising event, not only in visibility in our community, but our net proceeds are significant largely due to the ongoing generosity of Piedmont Grocery and Village Market, two locally owned businesses.  Hundreds of patrons come in to enjoy the breakfast of premium quality sausages, pancakes, and fresh fruit, with coffee and orange juice, plus the usual toppings of syrup and butter. The bustling environment is lively and cheerful, with young families who often come with the grandparents; many locals come back year after year to meet up with old friends.

For the members of PCSC, this is also a youth leadership development opportunity:  the VP Fundraising starts to plan this months in advance, setting sales goals, lining up advertising, planning the supplies required, and lining up donations. VP Communications helps with publicity and VP Accounting plans out the finances and ticket sales plan. Dozens of crew volunteers (members and parents) are needed to execute the event not only on the 4th, but also the day before, where considerable behind-the-scenes work takes place to set up.

Although this is a major effort to pull off with many hours involved, and a really early (6:30am) start on the 4th, most of the crew participants love working on the Pancake Breakfast!

PCSC would like to thank our donors (Piedmont Grocery and Village Market), and our customers.  We hope to see more of the community next year!
